Event Description

Throwball is a non-contact team sport played between two teams.The game requires quick reflexes, teamwork, and strategic play. The objective is to throw the ball over the net and land it in the opponent’s court while preventing the opposing team from doing the same.

Rules

• 1. Team Composition: Each team consists of 5 boys and 4 girls (Total: 9 players).
• 2. A maximum of 9 players can be on the court at a time.
• 3. Scoring System: The game is played for 1 set of 25 points.
• 4. A team must win by at least 2 points.
• 5. Starting the Game: The game starts with a toss to decide which team serves first.
• 6. The server must stand behind the baseline and throw the ball over the net.
• 7. Playing the Ball: Players must catch and throw the ball within 3 seconds.
• 8. The ball must be thrown with both hands and should not be spun or held too long.
• 9. A player cannot run while holding the ball.
• 10. Ball Crossing the Net: The ball must cross the net without touching it.
• 11. If the ball touches the net and goes over, it is a fault.
• 12. A ball that lands outside the court is out.
• 13. Player Rotation: After winning a rally, the team rotates clockwise before serving.
• 14. The same player cannot serve consecutively in a set.
• 15. Faults and Violations: A fault is committed if a player holds the ball for more than 3 seconds.
• 16. The ball is caught or thrown with one hand (except during service).
• 17. A player steps on or over the boundary lines while throwing.
• 18. The ball is not thrown cleanly (e.g., spinning, underarm throw).
• 19. More than one player touches the ball before throwing.
• 20. Substitutions & Timeouts: Each team is allowed 3 substitutions per set.
• 21. Each team can take 1 timeout (30 seconds) per set.
• 22. Winning the Match: The team that reaches 25 points first, with a 2-point lead, wins.
• 23. If the score reaches 24-24, the game continues until a team leads by 2 points.
• 24. Fair Play & Conduct: No physical contact is allowed.
• 25. Respect the referees' decisions.
• 26. Unsportsmanlike conduct (e.g., arguing, delaying the game) may result in warnings or disqualification.
